PUBLIC RELATIONS IN LOCAL SELF - GOVERNMENTS

Center for training of Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities `Exchange 3` , during last week in Leskovac, organized two day training on the theme `PR in local self governments`. This type of professional education gathered the employees in the units of self governments of south east Serbian region working in the affairs of information and PR, but also for the presidents of certain municipalities and heads of municipal administrations who recognized the importance of this theme.
The themes of this two days training were: Introduction to PR, PR strategy, Meda Features, Media profile in Serbia, PR channels and tools, Workshop – work on a project, Presentation of the projects from workshops and analyses, Crisis communication in local self government, Online PR and municipalities, Evaluations. They were realized by Natasa Ristic and Milos Djajic trainers – experts for media and PR of SKGO with many years of experience in the work with local self governments. In the organs of local self government professional, dealing with PR, in the last years have become visual and recognizable. In the period after 2000 started the forming of services within local self governments whose obligation is to inform about the work of municipality it was said during this seminar. According to Milos Djajic words, PR should represent the gathering of thought, planned and continued activities on establishing and maintaining of mutual understanding between organization and its surrounding. That is why this type of education has for its goal the improvement of knowledge and skills of trainees necessary for professional dealing with PR, Media relations, internal and crisis PR, planning in PR and all that influences to improvement of information sector. Programme of SKGO, EXCHANGE 3 represents the continuance of actions and measures that were started within programme EXCHANGE 1 and EXCHANGE 2 and is directed to introduction of EU model into functioning and improvement of capacities and efficiency of the work of local self governments in Serbia.
